Revised Process for Temperature and Battery Readings in GRU    05/02/17

United Cargo is revising our policy governing temperature and battery readings for TempControl shipments being stored at São Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport (GRU). The previous policy, communicated April 6, 2017, stated that customers who wished to obtain readings for TempControl shipments being stored at GRU needed to contact the GRU government cargo warehouse directly.

Effective immediately, United Cargo will offer our customers the option of obtaining temperature and battery readings for TempControl shipments being stored at GRU from United. The fee for this service is $125 US per container per day. Here are the details of this service:

- Readings are available for TempControl Active CSafe and Envirotainer units; and for TempControl Passive va-Q-tainer units
- Readings will be performed five times daily -- at 0900, 1200, 1500, 1800 and 2100 local time
- Results of readings will be communicated to customers via United Cargo's Control Tower for TempControl shipments
- Following the recovery of a shipment from the GRU government warehouse, the total amount for any readings obtained by United will be captured in our cargo system for invoicing
- In addition to the service described in this notice, customers also have the option to arrange with the GRU Airport Customer Care Center for Cargo (CAC) to obtain temperature and battery readings directly from the CAC. Customers may also choose not to have any readings taken while their shipments are being stored in the GRU government warehouse
- All current TempControl SOPs for shipments with the final destination of GRU will be revised to reflect whether United will, or will not, obtain readings while shipments are stored in the GRU government warehouse

Thank you for your understanding of this revised policy and process, and thanks also for your support. We look forward to continuing to provide the highest quality temperature-controlled shipping service to and from GRU.
