United Cargo Adds Chengdu to Global TempControl Network    05/17/17

United Cargo is pleased to announce that Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport (CTU) is the latest addition to our global TempControl network. CTU is the 68th location to be certified to handle our specialized service for pharmaceuticals, healthcare material and other commodities requiring temperature-sensitive shipping.

This announcement comes as United Cargo increases our widebody service between CTU and our primary Pacific hub at San Francisco (SFO) from three to four times weekly. Beginning next week, United flight 9 will depart SFO at 1:25 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday and arrive CTU at 6:40 p.m. the next day. United flight 8 will depart CTU at 9:50 a.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday and arrive SFO at 8:10 a.m. the same day. These flights are operated with Boeing 787 Dreamliner equipment.

Chengdu is the capital of Sichuan province in Western China. It is the sixth-largest city in China, and CTU is China’s fourth-busiest airport. Chengdu consistently ranks at or near the top of lists of China's most livable cities, and over 14 million people reside in its metropolitan area.

Three China cities -- Beijing, Hong Kong and Shanghai -- are already certified locations in our TempControl network, and we have established pharma business experts throughout China to provide manufacturers and customers with knowledgeable guidelines and solutions. We are enthusiastic about Temp Control's potential for improving the quality of health in the region through safe and swift transport of pharmaceuticals, medicines, vaccines and other healthcare commodities.
