U.S. Domestic and Outbound Pricing Policy Reminder    06/19/17

United Cargo wishes to remind our customers of the current pricing policies applicable to the commodities/classifications listed below. These policies are not new -- they have been in place since 2009 to make shipping on United easier, more economical and more convenient for our customers.

United Cargo will rate the following at applicable GCR rates, plus any applicable DG fees:

-- UN3373 Biological substance, Category B (Dangerous Goods)
These are shipments that do not require a Shipper’s Declaration for Dangerous Goods (DGD) and have been rated in the past at HAZ (premium) rates plus applicable DG fees. This exception applies to shipments containing UN3373 only and no other UN/ID Numbers.

-- UN2807 Magnetized material (Dangerous Goods)
These are shipments that require a Shipper’s Declaration for Dangerous Goods (DGD) and have been rated in the past at HAZ (premium) rates plus applicable DG fees. This exception applies to shipments containing UN2807 only and no other UN/ID Numbers.

-- ID8000 Consumer commodity (Dangerous Goods)
These are shipments that require a Shipper’s Declaration for Dangerous Goods (DGD) and have been rated in the past at HAZ (premium) rates plus applicable DG fees. This exception applies to shipments containing ID8000 only and no other UN/ID Numbers.

-- Dry Ice (UN1845)
All shipments containing dry ice were once considered to be "perishables" for rating purposes. However, there are certain articles, components or commodities that are not perishable even though they may still require the use of dry ice in their packaging. United will allow lower GCR rates to apply for any of the following articles packed in dry ice that are not otherwise restricted:

- "Reagents"; specifically clean medical or lab test kits with no other hazard
- High-tech mechanical and/or electronic devices
- Aircraft / aerospace parts
- Precision instruments / tools / apparatuses
- Non-organic resins
- Non-restricted chemicals and/or adhesives
- Any non-biologically based non-perishable material

Shippers must specifically describe the contents as one of the descriptions above on the MAWB. Shippers must also state that the articles are non-perishable on the MAWB. All other types of shipments containing dry ice will continue to be considered perishable and applicable perishable rates will apply.
